27′ Aluminum Racing

Buck is designed to win the next R2AK. ( Race To Alaska https://r2ak.com/ ). One cannot win this race if one can’t survive it.  The race course is 750 miles of mostly inshore, cold, current and rock strewn waters of the Pacific NW.   Tough and fast wins this challenge. Buck is both. At 27′ LOA x 8.5′ BOA she is built of aluminum and weighs in at ~ 4,200 lbs with the sea water ballast tank filled or about 2,300 lbs on your trailer. When the wind gets light simply pump out the ballast water and you are sailing @ ~ 3,000 lbs.  She is raced by a crew of four. There are port and starboard pipe berths below and little else. With twin lee-boards she could technically be called a scow. She is very beach and trailer friendly and her appendages all retract free of damage when accidentally struck. And yes, those are 2 sliding rowing seats, an R2AK essential.
